Equine Assisted Learning

Equine Assisted Learning(EAL) is an innovative way to teach First Responders Self-Control, Awareness and Resilience (SCAR) during stressful situations. EAL is a powerful, hands-on approach to personal growth and skill development that uses interactions with horses to teach life lessons. It’s not about riding—it’s about connecting, observing, and learning through experience for better decisions before, during and after a call. EAL builds confidence and improves emotional regulation skills for the best decision on use of force.

Improving Social Skills

This is a one-day, seven-hour training class. Horses are at liberty throughout the class. That means no halters and lead line to make them follow the group.

This program is most valuable to Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, EMS, Corrections, Dispatch, Mental health professionals and any service professional that experiences chronic stress.

Horses and Crisis Intervention

The goal

1 Experience self-control to be patients with others.

2 Experience environmental awareness to be empathetic with those around you.

3 Experience resilience to be tolerant of others and aware of positive changes in the situation

How are these goals achieved? Horses at liberty, as you see in the picture to the left. Horse are a refection of our body language and adrenaline levels. They are very responsive to their environment. When participants make necessary emotional and physical adjustments horses respond in the same way. The heightened ability to personally make subtle changes to a situation are the very skills necessary when dealing with members of the community, co-workers and family.

New Paragraph

EALTC  is a valued tool to use horses for emotional health and well being.  This is not a therapy program, it is a process that teaches self-control, awareness and resilience.   Equine assisted learning is a form of experiential learning that fosters both professional and personal development.
